Welcome to Day 10! Wolff’s Law was a description made by a German anatomist and researcher, Dr. Julius Wolff. He was actually a surgeon who realized, bone in a healthy person or animal will adapt to the loads under which it is placed. What does that mean? It means that Wolff’s Law describes why people get “bone spurs”.
When the spine shifts out of alignment, it puts abnormal loads of pressure on the bone. And because of Wolff’s Law, bone remodels or adapts to the loads under which it is placed. The bone changes to try to strengthen in those areas, to balance the stress that it’s under. If you improve the alignment and bio-mechanics of the bone/joint (think chiropractic/spinal hygiene) you’re literally taking stress off of those bones and preventing bone spurs from actually happening.
